ABOUT LORRI M. GREIF, CFRE

Lorri M. Greif, CFRE is president of Breakthrough Philanthropy, Inc., and the creator of the easyPG® Program. She has two decades in the nonprofit community focused on planned giving and major gifts. She has the "inside" knowledge of both a seasoned nonprofit fundraising professional and a fundraising consultant.

When it comes to planned giving, Lorri is mission-driven. She knows that without planned giving, a nonprofit's future is limited. Her goal is to ensure every charitable organization has the ability to include this type of fundraising into their development plans.

Lorri has created and implemented successful major gift and planned giving campaigns for both local and national nonprofits and her skill in training staff and leadership has made her a favorite speaker at planned giving seminars and conferences around the nation.

She has unique experience in building or re-working fundraising campaigns from "the ground up". As the first Chief Development Professional for HIAS, Inc., a 120+ year immigration rescue agency, she created a major gift and planned giving program while accelerating their annual campaign. By providing extensive training to professionals and board members, creating national marketing strategies, defining gift acceptance guidelines for the agency, overseeing adherence to IRS and government regulations and more, she changed the nonprofit's "fundraising culture: from one of government funding to individual heartfelt gifting.

Lorri was also the National Director of Planned Giving for Women's America ORT (now ORT America, Inc.) a 100+ year-old non-profit organization, which provides funding for vocational training and re-training world-wide. In addition to directing the program, she created and implemented a national marketing campaign for planned giving that helped to bring participation in their planned giving society to more than 1,000 members. She also helped to create the organization's Diamond Ladder, which brings in millions of dollars in new and increased major gifts.

Currently, THE PLANNED GIVING KEY™, Breakthrough Philanthropy, Inc.'s twice-a-month planned giving e-newsletter, is received by more than 660 nonprofit professionals interested in advice and assistance in planned gift fundraising. You can also visit her blog PLANNED GIVING BREAKTHROUGHS at www.plannedgivingbreakthroughs.com. Her articles on the role of planned giving in capital campaigns and the impact of the "great recession" on planned giving were published in issues of ADVANCING PHILANTHROPY, the official magazine of the AFP.

Lorri is a former board member of New York's Women in Development (WID) and is still active on the special programs committee. She is also a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP), the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York (PPGGNY), the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning (PPP), the American Council on Gift Annuities (ACGA), and serves on the committee for the 2011 New York Symposium for Philanthropic Planning.
